Annual Cowboy Breakfast needs to raise $50K or event may be canceled, organizers say
The annual Cowboy Breakfast may not take place in January because of a lack of funds, according to a Facebook post on Thursday.
The Cowboy Breakfast Foundation said in the social media post that the 45th iteration of the event on Jan. 27 is in danger of being canceled because the organization has not reached its fundraising goal. The foundation said it has faced increased expenses while receiving fewer donations.
Organizers have started a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday with a goal to raise $50,000. As of Friday morning, it had raised $325. Brad Dietrich, the president of the foundation, said organizers set a Dec. 1 deadline for a decision on the event.
